A minor stage collapse added to the drama of the star’s visit to Varanasi
The stage on which Aamir Khan stood to address the press collapsed under its own weight during his visit to Varanasi to attend auto-driver Ram Lakhan aka Nathuni’s son, Rajeev’s wedding. But the actor laughed off the incident saying it was ‘no big deal’. On the contrary, he seemed to enjoy his interaction with the locals who were clearly thrilled to see their favourite actor in action! Earlier, on his way to Varanasi, Aamir stopped at Patna for two hours and enjoyed a Bihari delicacy litti-chokha at a roadside dhaba. The ecstatic food vendor served Aamir a plate filled with five large littis. Aamir had two littis and then requested the litti-wallah to let him take the remaining three to eat in the car. He then sped away on the highway from Patna to Varanasi with the promise of returning to the Bihar capital in the near future. At Varanasi , he was clearly the centre of attraction as he introduced Ram Lakhan to the media. Aamir had met the auto driver three years ago in December 2009 when the latter drove him around the lanes of the temple city when he was promoting '3 idiots'. The actor continued with his bonding with him and had sent Nathuni air tickets to fly down to Mumbai for the premier of '3 Idiots', which later went on to become one of the biggest blockbusters at the box office.
Nathuni recently went to Mumbai to invite his 'friend' Aamir for the wedding of his son Rajeev, an engineer with an anti-virus company in Jaipur. And the superstar graciously promised to come down for the D-day.Aamir is all set to make his television debut with 'Satyamev Jayate'. www.cocoopix.blogspot.com
